In July 2025, at the CCSL hall, Freetown, Green Scenery participated in a two-day stakeholders’ engagement with partners on Universal Peer Review (UPR). The session was organised by Christian Aid Sierra Leone. The objective of the engagements is to review the country’s (Sierra Leone) human rights records (2020 -2025).
The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a United Nations mechanism that examines the human rights records of all 193 UN Member States. It is a state-driven peer review process, meaning that each country’s human rights record is assessed by other UN member states. The UPR aims to improve human rights situations globally by encouraging states to meet their international human rights obligations and commitments.
