July 2025, at the CCSL hall, Freetown, Sierra Leone, Christian Aid Sierra Leone, Organised two day Multi Stakeholders Engagements with partners On Universal Peer Review(UPR).The objective of the engagements was to review the country’s human rights records since 2020 -2025. Green Scenery, a long standing partner organisation to Christian aid participated in the two days engagements. The session was interactive and educative.
In the enragements , key thematic areas were examined ,and recommendation were made. The thematic areas examined includes: Natural Resources Governance, Gender Justice and Macroeconomic policies, Women’s inheritance Rights, and Human Dights Defenders. The aforementioned thematic areas were thoroughly examined, and recommendations were made.
The Universal Periodic Review (UPR),is a mechanism that examines the human rights records of all 193 UN Member States. It is a state-driven peer review process, meaning that each country’s human rights record is assessed by other UN member states. The UPR aims to improve human rights situations globally by encouraging states to meet their international human rights obligations and commitments.
