On Monday, December 5, 2022, at 42 Charles street Frettwn, Green Scenery was celebrated for excellent performance and commitment in the NGO sector in Sierra Leone. The celebration came as a result of an award the organisation received from the corporate event limited Siera leone depicting the organisation as the best Civil Society Organisation of the Year 2022, for its outstanding performance and commitment to the NGO sector, upholding best practices, highest ethical conduct and integrity, social responsibility, advocacy on policy reforms and environmental justice, socio-economic excellence and high humanitarian development standards. Green Scenery work has helped to uplift the lives of disadvantaged groups especially women and children, creating a peaceful society, hence contributing meaningfully to the achievement of the SDGs in Sierra Leone (see the award). The prestigious awards ceremony and banquet dinner was organised by Corporate Events Limited, a leading player across corporate entities in Sierra Leone, in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Council of Chief Executives, the Africa Media Corporation, publisher of African CEO, African Enterprise, African Ovation, African Petroleum magazines, and the African Council of Chief Executives. The event is the sixth in a row and is organised at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown.
The Chairman of the Organising Committee, President of the Sierra Leone CEO Council and Chairman of the Africa Media Corporation, based in New York City, USA. Peter SaSellu said the Green Scenery Work in Sierra Leone is worth being recognized at all levels due to the organisation’s excellent performance in the NGO sector.
The award was handed over to Green scenery by Honourable Justice Monfred Sesay, a high court judge of Sierra Leone.
Green Scenery was established in 1989 and has since served Sierra Leone and its people. When the Executive Director got the good news he said the award should be dedicated to the communities Green Scenery has served because this recognition is a result of serving them. He congratulated everyone that journeyed with Green Sceney to reach this milestone. (GS information)
